  Alpengasthof Winklmoosalm

The valley where Reit im Winkl lyes is surrounded by mountains which allow the visitors to enter only from the West side. In Germany they call the Valley of Reit im Winkl "Schneeloch" (the hole with snow) as this region has the most snow in Germany each winter. The clouds gather over the valley and bring the snow usually in the early autumn, ensuring a perfect ski season for arround 6 months each year. After a few days of snowing over the Reit im Winkl usually the clouds leave a clear sky behind with the sun and it`s reflections creating marvellous sparkles on the white winter landscape.

Reit im Winkl iis situated at an altitude of 700m and belongs to the Nord Kalkalps. The mountains surrounding it are the Bavarian Alps and the highest peak is the Dürrnbachhorn (1776m).

Just next to the middle station of the gondola from Seegartel to the Steinplatte lies our Hotel Alpengasthof Winklmoosalm, at 300m from the ski sloap.

The Hotel was completly renovated in 2009 in a bavarian style with modern accents and luxury amenities.
